Gaming Club Casino review
Amazingly, Gaming Club Casino has been around for 17 years. Whilst most of us back in 1994 were figuring out how to use a mouse and using Windows for the first time, the management team at this legendary online casino were blazing a trail that was to lead the way for hundreds of imitators over the years – but they remain the original, and have kept their site fresh and appealing by never forgetting the pioneering spirit that got them established a generation ago. We rate Gaming Club Casino 8.6 out of 10 in our review in 2018.
This is a classic example of how good a Microgaming site can be: both online and download versions are given equal prominence – you are not deliberately steered toward the download, a policy we approved of highly. There’s 400-odd games on the download version, versus about 200 online – with a special facility for Mac users.
The overall feel is slightly bold; a bit sassy - almost daring you to come in and have a try, which is ironic as it’s actually incredibly user friendly.
The full set of Microgaming Blackjack games is available on the download version, although there’s also 28 of these online. However, the main draw with the download here are the unbeatable tournaments. The whole ethos here is a breath of fresh air, with Gaming Club openly stating that they actually welcome card counters. You can practice in their freeroll tournaments and still win cash prizes if you do well, or select 2, 4 or 6 deck games in either sit-and-play or scheduled tourneys – with guaranteed prize money for each game.
And the tourneys don’t end there: they even have scheduled or sit-and-go for slots as well, with players’ results on 4 of the best games compiled onto a leaderboard with up to $30 per week up for grabs, and a main tourney running every Friday to Sunday with a whopping $120,000 in the pot. All of this currently happens on Tomb Raider, Thunderstruck (hugely popular and a personal favourite), Loaded and Avalon.
As if all of this wasn’t enough, there 58 videopoker games to download as well as 14 progressive slots and enough table games to keep anyone happy
You’ll receive a 100% welcome bonus up to £100, with a playthrough requirement of 50 times. As always, everything wagered on slots, Keno and scratchcards counts 100% towards meeting the conditions with other games counting for less – more significantly, though, you need to be aware that the welcome offer requires you to download. Bearing in mind that some players would rather forgo their welcome bonus and not be subjected to playthrough requirements anyway, it makes the decision as to whether you download or not that much easier.
There’s also monthly and weekly ad-hoc promotions, and between 1 and 3 loyalty points awarded per £10 wagered (one credit is awarded for every 200 points accumulated).
Deposit using Instadebit, Visa or Mastercard. Withdraw using Visa OCT, Moneybookers, Neteller, cheque or bank transfer. Time taken varies from up to 7 working days (cheque/transfer) to as little as 24 hours (Neteller, Moneybookers).
Telephone support is offered on 0800 917 8547; use email (see web form on site); use the live chat facility or alternatively the excellent FAQs
Invariably we find that the longer an online casino has been in operation, the better it treats its customers, and that’;s certainly the case with Gaming Club. Nowhere else have we seen, for example, a detailed guide for beginners explaining the difference between each category of slot game, but fit ought to be a must-have on any site. The potted histories and fun facts with each game made us feel at home as well, with the bonus structure and customer support reflecting the same approach. On top of all that it’s the best-looking Microgaming site we’ve ever seen. The original and best? We wouldn’t bet against it.
Hence, is Gaming Club Casino safe to play at?For sure.
