Planning a Casino Vacation

by on

Planning a casino vacation is easy if you're entirely on your own. Pick a city; book a flight; place your bet. Short of a little price comparison and negotiating your days off with your boss, there's not much distance between your desk at the office and your place at the poker table.

The same cannot be said if you're traveling with your wife, your girlfriend, your in-laws, your university buddies, your children, your church group, your office mates Organizing holidays for anything larger than a party of one is difficult. And the larger, the more diverse, and the more finicky the individual travelers, the harder it is to please everyone.

Our soon to be released hotel and casino guide addresses the needs of several unique types of gamblers by offering thoughtful hotel and casino reviews that allow you to create a custom casino vacation to suit your needs. If it's hot poker tables you crave, we've got them. If you're looking for the best nightlife, we'll tell you where to find it. And if you're looking for an great deal at a good price, we'll deliver that, too.

Party at the Palms? One of the truest catch-phrases in Vegas. Indeed, there is always—and we mean always—a party at the Palms. Established in 2001 and located in the center of the strip, this hottest of Las Vegas Casinos is synonymous with celebrity, luxury and debauchery. Bachelor party? Yes. Family getaway? No. Girls weekend? Yes. Serious gambling? No. Why? Because although the Palms offers every type of casino and card game imaginable and boasts a palm frond pool both kids and adults can appreciate, it's hard to keep your eyes on the prize when all 425 rooms are occupied.

Attention shoppers! There is no casino in the Four Seasons Macau Hotel and Resort! Surprise! It's true. Though located on the Cotai Strip amidst dozens of skyward stretching hotel and casinos, the Four Seasons Macau does not have a casino floor of its own. What it does have is 360 rooms—a quarter of which are suites—that all feature plasma televisions, wireless hi-speed internet and a separate marble tub and shower; a 24/7 fitness center with as many treadmills as dumbbells; and a shopping mall where you can spend all the money you won at the Best Western Casino down the block on Gucci, Versace and Fendi for your honey. To be fair, there is a proper casino in the Venetian Macau, which is conjoined with the Four Seasons and only a stones throw away. If you're looking for luxury, stay at the Four Seasons; you can skip the fitness center and get your workout by walking to the casino next door.

If it's old-world panache you desire, there's no place like Casino Monte Carlo. Its architecture and décor represent the best in 'Belle Epoque' style, and its casino floor hosts the most prestigious, most broad array of table games in all of Europe. Punto Banco, 30/40, Black Jack and Slots, as well as both European and English Roulette can be played here. Games are dispersed throughout several salons, including variations on public, private and super private (Les Supers Privés). Most salons commence play at 2pm, with sensible dress and a $10 admission fee required, add $10 and a jacket for admission to private rooms.
